Our Côté Jardins facility  is currently looking for a Pivot Soir Special Education Technician!

Our primary mission is to create a welcoming living environment for our residents and employees. Teamwork is our strength for comprehensive care for our clients: recreation department, nutrition team, occupational therapy, social work, nurses, special education, and many others!

JOB SUMMARY

The person in this position is responsible for providing care related to activities of daily living (e.g., hygiene care while accompanying a beneficiary attendant) and domestic services to residents within our prosthetic units. They ensure the residents' comfort and meet their basic needs. She also ensures their safety through vigilance and appropriate support. She participates in the development and implementation of a living environment on the unit, in achieving objectives by acting in accordance with the philosophy of the Nursing Department. We are looking for someone with positive leadership skills and good problem-solving skills.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, draft behavior management plans, ensure their implementation, and keep them up to date;
• Act as a resource person for the care team, both regularly and occasionally, and for families;
• Promote the relational approach and the living environment philosophy to the team and families;
• Apply supportive relationship techniques to residents and their families;
• Intervene with residents occasionally and in emergency situations;
• Meet bimonthly with the living unit manager to ensure that targeted objectives are achieved;
• Meet monthly with the nursing advisor in The goal is to optimize the quality of care and services provided in the management of BPSD.

Shared Responsibilities

• Collaborate in determining residents' needs
• Be able to respond adequately and accurately to their immediate supervisor's questions regarding the 14 basic needs of the residents for whom they are responsible;
• Be actively involved in the life of their work unit; Apply infection prevention and risk management programs;
• Assess the risks of accidents, falls, wounds, and infections and implement the necessary preventive measures;
• Be concerned about the physical and psychological safety of residents and act accordingly at all times; apply the restraint protocol according to the nurse's instructions;

Requirements:

• College diploma in special education
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the field (CHSLD)
• Management experience is an asset
