Tasks

Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventionsCollaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient careDispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physicianMonitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditionsOperate or monitor medical apparatus or equipmentProvide nursing careSupervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staffPerform administrative tasksConduct researchProvide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort careProvide safety and health education to individuals and their familiesAdminister medication and observe and document therapeutic effectsTake vital signs, apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensure infection control, monitore nutritional intake and conduct specimen collectionProvide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning proceduresMonitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team
