Respiratory Therapist - Sleep and Allergy Clinic

• Compensation: $30 to $46 (recognition of experience)
• Schedule: 4 to 5 days/week, days and/or evenings (until 7:00 p.m.)
• Position: Full-time/permanent/weekdays
• Mobility: Montcalm (Berger Medical Center) and Duberger

Reporting to the Director of the Sleep Apnea and Allergy Department, the respiratory therapist will be responsible for medical services related to sleep apnea and will actively participate in the Allergy Clinic.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to the assessment of cardiorespiratory function for diagnostic or therapeutic monitoring purposes (polygraphy, pulse oximetry, CPAP therapy);
• Treat people of all ages suffering from cardiorespiratory disorders;
• Perform diagnostic tests of respiratory function (spirometry); (Spirometry is for respiratory function, not cardiorespiratory function)
• Teach, educate, or re-educate patients with a view to rapid recovery of their respiratory capacity, long-term stabilization, and hospitalization prevention (teaching about metered-dose inhalers, smoking cessation, breathing exercises);
• Actively participate in the Allergy Clinic by providing direct support to physicians.
• Perform Holter, ECG, and ABPM tests;
• Clean the equipment and rental equipment in the sleep apnea department;
• All other related tasks.

Required profile

• Experience in a sleep clinic;
• College diploma (DEC) in Inhalotherapy Techniques.
• Holder of a license to practice from the Ordre professionnel des inhalothérapeutes du Québec (OPIQ).
