About the Role

As a Clinical Pharmacist at Metro’s Pharmacy Health Clinic, you will provide patient-centered care in a retail setting, offering prescribing services, medication therapy management, and clinical consultations to improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and prescribe for minor ailments (e.g., skin conditions, infections, allergies).
Conduct medication reviews and optimize drug therapy for chronic conditions.
Perform A1C and cholesterol testing to support diabetes and heart health management.
Administer vaccinations (COVID-19, flu, travel vaccines).
Provide travel health consultations and prescribe preventative medications.
Prescribe and dispense oral antiviral treatments (e.g., Paxlovid).
Educate patients on lifestyle changes and medication adherence.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.
Ensure compliance with Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) standards.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and inquiries.
Stay updated on new clinical guidelines and pharmacy regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education – B.Sc.Phm. Degree (4-year University Pharmacy Program).
Licensure – Registered Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Injection certified, Smoking Cessation certified and registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Strong clinical knowledge in primary care and chronic disease management.
Ability to work independently and make evidence-based prescribing decisions.
Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
Experience in a retail pharmacy or clinical setting is preferred.
Proficient with current PC systems, MS Office programs and pharmacy software (Kroll)
Interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships and positive work environment
Language skills to communicate clearly and listen carefully in a respectful manner.
Organizational skills to prioritize, plan ahead, manage time and be punctual.
Customer service skills to achieve customer satisfaction by recognizing customer needs/wants.
Receptivity to accept constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
Initiative to identify and complete tasks independently.
